Austin, Texas: The Birthplace of Whole Foods

I’m probably a bit on the unusual side for placing Whole Foods Market at the top of my to-see list when I visited Austin, Texas in October. In fact, it WAS the first place I visited when I arrived in Texas.

The truth of the matter is, Whole Foods is A-mazing and to be able to walk into the Mama of all Whole Foods, is quite the honour, at least for healthy-food lovers like me…. And I’m happy to report that it did not disappoint. It was like an amusement park for vegans, raw food lovers and just foodies in general, especially because it was a Saturday and we all know what that means…. SAMPLE DAY!

I probably spent a solid two and a half hours (no word of a lie), wandering the aisles of Whole Foods, making friends with the Demo Specialists, taking pictures and stuffing my tummy to the gills! I just love being in grocery stores because of all the opportunity that lies before you in the aisles upon aisles. It’s breathtaking!

So I thought I’d pass on my experience to you through pictures. Feast your eyes, my friends!

Just like the salad bar, pick and choose your pleasure…

Enjoy seafood at the sit-down bar in Whole Foods!

In need of some comfort food? Stop by at the Italian pasta bar right in the middle of Whole Foods!

Well, I guess that will be all for now. I’m holding back on my favourite discovery at Whole Foods for a later date. I promise I’ll get that up soon though, so please, stay tuned. Happy, healthy grocery shopping to you!
